Swishing success!

A big thank you on behalf of the Pre-school committee, staff and children to everyone who supported the Swishing Party on Friday 7th February at Deneholme. There was a great turn out of ladies who all donated pre-loved, good quality clothes, footwear and accessories and were able to ‘swish’ them for some new ones. There was a buffet and a glass of fizzy included in the ticket price and venue was decked out beautifully – thank you very much to Linda and Tony of Beck’s Training for the use of Deneholme for the evening. The final amount of money raised is not yet known but is in the region of £800, we still have left over clothes to sell on, but we do know that we have raised enough to replace the much loved but now broken Pre-school computer with a tablet, and also perhaps look at the wish list that the children have come up with for new equipment. We will update you on a final figure once it is known, and let you know what the proceeds have helped us to provide for the children.

I would just like add a huge thank you to everyone who has contributed to organising and attending the swishing party! It sounded and looked like you all had a fabulous evening. I think it is amazing the committee and friends have taken the £80 raised at the book swap and turned that into £800 to buy new resources and equipment for the children! As Mary has mentioned the children are looking forward to us getting a new computer and have indeed helped create a very long list of resources they would like us to have!
